Double Laminated cabinet of plywood, walnut, epoxy resin and aluminum.
As a child I was fascinated by bridge constructions. When I see a beautiful bridge I’ll always look at how it’s balanced.
That was also the mindset for building the cabinet. How do I keep five shelves in the air without an unnecessarily heavy construction?
The frame of the cabinet is made of steel pipes. The pipes are steel cables pulled to the middle where they meet at a point.
The planks hang on the vertical cables where they seem to dance in the frame.

The base of this coffee table is a huge piece of wood from the trunk of an elm. The tribe has a number of years dried out and is therefore greyed.
When editing the tribe I was inspired by a precious stone. The outer side is gray and at first sight worthless. By planing the wood smooth and polish you get to see the beautiful interior.

In 2007, I cut down a walnut tree in a garden. From this wood I made a big picnic table for my wife. After having been started outside the table to be flawed and grew moss on, the table had to leave. Back in the workshop, I was in doubt, should I throw the wood in the stove or let it dry and give it another chance?
After drying for a year in the workshop, I decided to do something with it. The outside was dirty and there were cracks in. But after scraping once appeared to have the wood didn’t lost its beauty.
Through the cracks in the wood, I could not use it constructively. I designed a closet. A steel frame with wood as warm skin around it.
